Screenshot Easy

Extra ways to capture your screen!

When you don't capture your phone screen very often, there's a chance that you'll forget the magic button combination that does that. Is it Power + VolumeDown? Is it VolumeUp + VolumeDown? Is it Hold Power for Five Seconds? Oh crap, I switched it off.

Screenshot Easy

I have stumbled upon screenshot making apps before, but I never saw something more thorough in its execution than Screenshot Easy. You can't just take an ad-hoc screenshot using this app. If you want to capture anything, you'll need to enable Screenshot Easy first. You first need to switch on all of the methods that you want to use to trigger the capture, then tap on "Start Capture," which will enable the triggers.

The Notification Icon option is the default trigger. But otherwise, you can opt for one or more of the possible options. The weirdest of the bunch is the Power Connect/Disconnect. That takes a screenshot whenever you plug or unplug your device. I don't know why you would want that, but I guess it must serve a practical purpose.

You can also make video recordings with Screenshot Easy. The controls for video capturing are virtually identical to the ones used for screenshots. The only exception seems to be that you will have to actively save the video file after you finish capturing, whereas screenshots are saved as soon as you obtain them.

There are some more options that you can set-up in the Settings menu. These include timeouts, format adjustments, file-name customization and more.

Features

  • Custom screenshot capture triggers, including shaking, camera button, and overlay icon.
  • Video recording
  • Adjustable timeout
  • Start on Boot
  • Silent save
  • File formatting options
  • Can also capture the audio on the video

Final Thoughts

I found that I enjoy using Screenshot Easy. It is very light on the system, so I have no problems keeping it active while I also run power and memory intensive apps. Using a notification as a capture control is very handy, as bringing down the notification screen pauses the active app anyway. I also find the video feature to be a great addition. The app interface does have some glitches, but these don't interfere with the capture abilities, so they're barely troublesome.
